Roman Coppola & Andy Bruntel, Neill Blomkamp, PSYOP, TRONIC, Saiman Chow, Charlie White, and HAPPY were each assigned one of seven colors – Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Pink, Black or White. A simple, open-ended brief asked each director to create a viral film based on their emotional and creative response to that color. The resulting shorts are a color-coded collection of innovative film aesthetics and contemporary creative sensibilities, a truly post-modern mix of genre, style and technique.

Sky Movies: Star Wars vs Star Trek - Lightwriting

Lightwriting in London by the Lichtfaktor crew. An amazing new technique achieved by setting the camera to long time exposure and writing with flash lights on the landscape.

Commissioned to promote Sky's Star Wars vs Star Trek season - showing all 6 star wars and 10 star trek films, in one weekend.

Rationale was to create something new, striking and original to two of the best known entertainment brands on the planet, whilst keeping true to their spirit. Lichtfaktor, who hail from Cologne, Germany, were found on myspace by Sky Movies, and approached directly.

Surrender x Levi's Fenom for UNKLE

Surrender got together with Levi's Fenom, the line that is designed by Fragment Design lead by Hiroshi Fujiwara. They took the Levi's Fenom 207 Black Disco Denim and applied the UNKLE logo, created by 3D of Massive Attack. They also applied original black Swarovski crystals. The denim is of course made in Japan and limited to 15 pieces.

Frankfurt Taxi Services: Piss screen

The Piss-Screen - a pressure-sensitive inlay set within urinals, enabling users to play while they pee. We installed this newfangled creation in male restrooms across Frankfurt, teaming up with a variety of bars, clubs and cafés. The game itself was displayed on a screen above each urinal, and would automatically start as soon as someone began to pee. The player could then control the car whilst relieving himself – if they wanted the car to go right, they simply peed to the right (and visa versa).

Commonplayground la Centrul National al Dansului Bucuresti, miercuri 8 august, orele 19.00

Asociatia Grup Asa in colaborare cu Centrul National al Dansului Bucuresti va invita, miercuri 8 august, orele 19.00 la vernisajul expozitiei de graffiti Commonplayground.

Commonplayground este un proiect care sustine un stil de exprimare artistica tipic culturii de strada : graffiti-ul. Cultura de strada are la baza transformarea spatiului inconjurator in suport de lucru pentru artisti, care il folosesc pentru a re-estetiza peisajul urban.

Asemeni conceptului lui Duchamp sau al lui Manzoni de ready-made, cladirile si spatiile pe care le picteaza devin galerii sau muzee in sine, fara a fi institutionalizate, destinate publicului larg. Esenta graffiti-ului se refera la posibilitatea imensa pe care orice cetatean o are de a folosi spatiul public care ii apartine si a carui monotonie impusa este rupta de prezenta acestor lucrari inserate in aria urbana.

Commonplayground in engleza inseamna loc de joaca comun. Proiectul vorbeste despre spatiul public comun, « locul de joaca » al tuturor, pe care il putem infrumuseta si re-estetiza chiar si intr-un mod efemer, cu lucrari care poate vor ramane acolo unde au fost create sau poate vor dispare.

Artistii participanti sunt RIPO din S.U.A, SINBOY din Marea Britanie/Spania si OBES din Belgia. Cei trei tineri artisti, RIPO, SINBOY si OBES sunt nume deja cunoscute pe plan international, ei fiind invitati sa participe in proiecte, expozitii si manifestari artistice diverse. Lucrarile lor au fost publicate in studii de specialitate despre street art si graffiti. Venind din spatii diferite, de pe trei continente, ei se aseamana prin tipul de arta practicat dar se diferentiaza prin stil.

Commonplayground este organizat de Asociatia Grup Asa in parteneriat cu Centrul National Al Dansului, sustinut de Eurogama, Romastru, AXE, Rulez si MINDBLOWING. ro - the check-out blog.
