Biography:
Having been a leading Music artist in Newcastle for several years, holdin MC residencys at Grenade and Heavyweight, with regular appearences at Subotica Durham. Aems is now playing gigs all over the north of england to crowds of up to 2000 people... As well as releasing several digital releases with his own label Metro Breaks, He has appeared on both BBC1Xtra and Asian Network as well as tunes played on Rinse, SubFM, and many more stations...Aems also designs Logos, branding and web graphics.

Full History of METRO BREAKS... Our next release is a dubstep banger from Rob Malfunktion called "My House".

I started Metro Breaks as an outlet for breakbeat and bass orientated music in late 2008 as a response to record labels reducing their vinyl output and starting digital sales. I figured i do run a digital label just as well as any other small label so decided to set up the label. We started with a small release "Regenerations" in order to test the market and after a good reception we released Samurai Dread with a remix from Urban Takeover's Mulder. This got played all over the world and we started to get some good feedback from the DJs and customers. Early This year we paired up with Newcastlebeats.com and had a remix competition for the third release on the label with local DNB producers "Dubbledrop" and local techno producer "RedDrum" both winning releases. Early this year we secured a distribution deal through Nu-Rave.com and our music is now available from all major digital download sites, including Napster, I-Tunes, Beatport and Nokia Download as well as from our own homepage www.metrobreaks.co.uk. Our fourth Release "My House" by Rob Malfunktion is due out over the summer, with remixes from Newcatle's finest fidget producers "Decibel" and London's "Running Man" :D You can also subscribe to our podcast to recieve exclusive mixes and sneak previews of Tunes not only on our label, but on others as well. The label is run by Myself with a lot of help from Reckless and Miss Aim.

As for the future, we aim to continue putting out rave influenced bass music with a priority to north-east based artists, and if all goes well in 2009, we will look towards an expansion into Jungle and Hiphop in 2010.

As for our event, we run a small FREE event at The Kings Manor. This bi-monthly where we showcase local DJs playing a mash-up of breaks, electro, house, old skool, rave and dubstep with different music downstairs. The DJs are given the freedom to play whatever they want (within reason) and we provide a good night of great music with good quality beers and a nice community atmosphere. We go all evening from 8pm-2am. Our first event in march was a great success and our second event later this month looks to be a banger with Music from Pete Wallis, Fun Size Johnny, Spectra, Flabski and many more... Our Third event in July will be a very special one with loads of free CDs and a proper summer party vibe so head down and hear some of the best new underground music currently being championed in the toon.
